Young, Morris, Hopkins become Elected Officials to Working for Downtown Board of Directors

Sworn in was Mary Young, CPA as President, Megan Morris, CPA as Treasurer, and Sarah Hopkins, CPA as a Board Member for Working for Downtown for the 2016-2017 year. Working for Downtown promotes and improves the quality of life in Downtown Buffalo by fostering an interest in civic and downtown development.
Mary Young, CPA has experience working with governmental entities including school districts, industrial development agencies and municipalities in the areas of auditing, Single Audits, taxation, information returns and financial reporting. She currently conducts the audit fieldwork for our larger school districts and maintains the continuing professional education requirements of Governmental Auditing Standards. Mary is also experienced with and provides services to many of our nonprofit clients.
Megan Morris, CPA joined the Firm in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Robert E. Cook Honors College. As a tax staff accountant, Megan prepares tax returns for businesses and individuals. Megan also spends time at the Firm’s office at the BNMC’s Innovation Center, giving free advice to startups and entrepreneurs. She also is an active fencer, runner and cyclist, volunteering as a corker during Slow Roll Buffalo's weekly rides.
Sarah Hopkins, CPA has extensive expertise working with tax-exempt organizations in the areas of auditing, single audits, taxation, grant compliance and financial reporting. She currently oversees the audit fieldwork for several public and private foundations, private educational institutions, charter schools and public charities.
