FAC Reopens

Today, the Federal Audit Clearinghouse (FAC) website reopened and is again accepting single audit submissions. Additionally, the single audit submission deadline has been further extended to 1/31/16. Upon first entering the FAC Website, users will be prompted to update their passwords. The process to update passwords remains the same as it was prior to the FAC shutdown.

As previously mentioned, the FAC was closed for business in July 2015, due to a security incident. Since then, the FAC has been working to make security improvements and to perform system testing. During that time the submission deadline was extended several times.

The updated submission extension language, which can be accessed on the FAC submit an audit page at https://harvester.census.gov/facides/ reads as follows:

"Due dates between 7/22/2015 - 1/30/2016 are extended to 1/31/2016."

Although an additional extension has been provided, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget has asked the Governmental Audit Quality Center (GAQC) to communicate that earlier submissions are encouraged whenever possible.
