Lumsden McCormick is pleased to announce that it has been named one of the Top Workplaces in Western New York by The Buffalo News. 

The Buffalo News recognized 40 local businesses in Western New York as the Top Workplaces in 2015. These companies have been recognized as Top Workplaces based solely on surveys completed by their employees. The Top Workplaces program was setup to recognize companies that have a great workplace and has found that Top Workplaces have the working environment that allows them to outperform peers.

“Being named to this list is an honor,” said John Schiavone, CPA, Managing Partner. “And while the firm receives the recognition, it really belongs to every member of our staff. It’s both an endorsement and reflection of our employees’ attitude towards providing our clients with the best service possible through collaboration with a team they truly enjoy working with. Our move to the Cyclorama Building was strategic as well,” Schiavone says, “we continue to draw the best applicants because of not only our physical workplace but the support we provide both in and outside of our round walls.” Initiatives within the firm such as a business development committee, Making A Difference Committee and a new wellness initiative add to the perks of working with one of the largest accounting firms in WNY.

The Buffalo News partnered with Workplace Dynamics to conduct the survey; a total of 7,161 employees participated representing fifty-six companies. The participating companies were placed into three categories based on the number of employees. A large company was defined as having more than 500 employees; a midsize between 100-499 employees and a small was between 99-35 employees. Lumsden McCormick ranked in the small business category.
